§ 32-2. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Plat means a map or chart of the subdivision and includes plan, plat or replat.

    Re-subdivision means the division of an existing subdivision, together with any change of lot size therein or with the relocation of any street line.

    Subdivision means the division of a tract or parcel of land into two or more parts or lots for the purpose, whether immediate or future, of sale or building development or transfer of ownership, and shall include re-subdivision. The following is not defined as a subdivision: testamentary division of property; partnership division of property upon dissolution; and a division of property between two or more owners of an undivided interest by court order.
