§ 28-27. Collection schedule generally; certain wastes excluded from collection.

  • The waste collector shall collect waste, except brush, not less than weekly. Brush shall be collected as specifically provided in this chapter. Certain wastes may be excluded from collection, as follows:

    (1)

    Collection of wastes from places of excessive accumulation, such as killing and dressing plants for fowl, may be excluded from the service provided by the waste collector and, in that event, such accumulations shall then be removed and disposed of at the expense of the owner or person having same in charge.

    (2)

    Heavy dead animals, such as cows, horses, and mules, shall be removed and disposed of at the expense of the owner or person having same.

    (3)

    Heavy accumulations such as broken concrete, ashes, sand or gravel, automobile frames, dead trees, and other bulky, heavy materials shall be disposed of at the expense of the owner or person controlling same.

    (4)

    Manure from cows, horses, poultry, pigeon lofts and other animal or fowl pens, and waste oils from garages or filling stations shall be removed and disposed of at the expense of the person controlling same.

    (5)

    Any garbage, rubbish or junk not specifically approved for collection under this chapter may be excluded from collection.
