§ 28-26. Use of approved receptacle required; preparation and placement of waste for collection.

  • (a)

    Receptacles are issued by contract with the town's waste collection provider. No other receptacle will be accepted for use and disposal for garbage service. Additional receptacles may be requests and will be provided for an additional monthly fee as set forth in the town fee schedule, to be added to the monthly water bill. Each receptacle is assigned to a particular property and shall not be removed from that property.

    (b)

    It is the duty of every person owning, managing, operating, leasing or renting any premises to place the daily accumulations of garbage and rubbish in the receptacles required in this section.

    (c)

    It is the duty of every person placing garbage in receptacles for collection to first eliminate as far as possible all water and liquid from such garbage and to securely wrap garbage in paper before placing same in the receptacle.

    (d)

    All ordinary accumulations of rubbish which cannot be conveniently placed in the receptacles required under this chapter shall be disposed of at the expense of the owner or occupant. Brush placed for collection shall meet the specific brush regulations of this chapter.
