§ 36-135. Applicability; compliance with local and state regulations required.

(a)

Unless exception is granted by the town council, the public sanitary sewer system shall be used by all persons discharging wastewater, industrial wastes or polluted liquids. Unless authorized by the state department of water resources, no person may deposit or discharge any waste included in this section on public or private property or into or adjacent to any natural outlet, watercourse, storm sewer, or other area within the jurisdiction of the town.

(b)

The town council shall verify prior to discharge that wastes authorized to be discharged will receive suitable treatment within the provisions of laws, regulations, ordinances, rules and orders of federal, state and local governments.
